Introduction:-
Ghosi is a town in Mau district, Uttar Pradesh established by king Nahoos around 1535. He formerly lived at qasba khas where he built his palace at court ‘Koat’, where ASI has found archaeological evidence of his rule. During the British raj, Madhuban was the Koatwali of the region. After Indian independence Ghosi became a Lok Sabha constituency. Ghosi located at 260 11'N and 830 54'E. It has an average alevation of 68 meter (223 fit). As of 2011india census Kopaganj had a population of 39165 with the 20135 male and 19303 female. The average literacu rate is 77% and sex ratio is 95. It is located at national highway 29, 25 kilometer towards north from district headquarter Mau and 120, 86, 97, 50, 375 KM. respectively from Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Ballia, Azamgarh, state capital Lucknow. It is a railway station at Indara-Doharighat rail route.
Regulated Area:-
For planned development of Ghosi has disided Regulated Area by the Government Order- 2065(6)/9-vk-3-94-10 vkj-,--92, dated- 29-11-1994. At present it has no master plan.
