Introduction of Development Area Ayodhya

Introduction

Ayodhya-Faizabad Development Area is situated in Uttar Pradesh State in Faizabad Division in District Faizabad of India. Ayodhya and Faizabad cities are the tourist places of historical and archaeological importance, which are located on the bank of Saryu river. These cities are respectively about 142 Km. and 150 Km. east of Lucknow, coordinates 26.800N and 82.200E and 26.770N and 82.150E. Elevations are respectively 93m (305 ft) and 97m (318 ft). As data of 2011 census, the Ayodhya and Faizabad respectively urban agglomeration had a population of 55890 and 165228.

Development Area

For well planned development of the Ayodhya town and Faizabad town under R.B.O. Act-1958 the Uttar Pradesh State Government had declared the area under the border of Faizabad and Ayodhya Nagar Palika Urbanizable area under nearby 56 revenue villages of Block Sohawal, Masodha and Pura Bazar, District Faizabad as Faizabad-Ayodhya Regulated Area by notification No. 2816/XXXVII-3-45N.K.V./78 Lucknow Dated December 17, 1979. Thereafter under Uttar Pradesh Urban Planning and Development Act-1973 above mentioned Faizabad-Ayodhya Regulated Area declared as Ayodhya-Faizabad Development Area by notification No. 4490/XI-5-85-99D.A./78 Lucknow, Dated November 02, 1985

Master Plan's Status

Ayodhya Master Plan-2031 approved by Uttar Pradesh Government is effective in Development Area Ayodhya at present.
