Regulated Area Ballia (Ballia)

Ballia Nagar is Headquarter and Business Centre of Sudur Eastern Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh. Ballia is now directly connected with Bihar state by Varanasi-Chhapra Rail Route and paved bridge over Ujiyara Ghat of Ganga River. Through Rail route, except Varanasi, Ballia is not connected directly through any other main city.

As per Indian Census, 1991 Ballia comes under second town category and in year 1991 population was 84,778. As per 1981 population increased from 30.27% to 38.72% in 1991. This district comes in last 15 districts of Uttar Pradesh, in terms of economy. After watching geographical status of town, it makes obvious that town has physically developed, in irregular, unbalanced and unplanned way. With the population point of view it is clear that, services and facilities which the town needs, are not fulfilled properly, which results into decreasing of town facilities and organisations are getting unsuccessful. It is also observed that town should be developed from physical and economical point of view and a long-term plan should be framed. Current problems should not be neglected, and should be solved with complete dedication.

To provide basic services to the citizens of town, it is necessary to analyze the situation like, housing condition of town, education, health, entertainment, business and commerce, industrial condition and its development, public services, government needs and services, conditions of offices, current use of lands, problems occurring in physical development etc. On the basis of above Maha Yojna will be prepared by Varanasi Regional Planning Division of Town and Country Planning Department, Uttar Pradesh. By keeping the problems in mind and doing evaluation of basic needs of the population as per year 2001, perfect and long term plan has been made, so that rapid development can be possible under clean and favorable environment.
