Siswa Bazar is situated at Maharajganj District of India. Wheather is temprate here as it’s situated in Himalayan low land (tarai belt) near Indo-Nepal border. The place is named after the Sheesham (Dalbergia sissoo) trees which are found in abundance here and there was a huge market of sheesham timber in old days which was called Sheeshmawa ka bazaar. Later on the name gradually changed to present Siswan Bazar. There are several sugar mills situated in this belt due to higher sugar cane production.
