The place, which is the headquarters of a tahsil of the same name, lies in Lat. 250 32’ N. and Long. 810 22’ E., 50 km. west of Prayagraj and 13 km. south-west of the Bharwari railway station. Roads lead north-west to Sirathu, west to Dhata and south to Karari.
