Maharajganj is district Head quarter of Uttar Pradesh in India and administrative headquarters of Maharajganj district which is located at Indo-Nepal Border. In ancient times it was known as Karapath and was a part of Koshal Dynasty. Maharajganj is situated at 55 K.M North of Gorakhpur. This town has been connected by State high way-81 from Gorakhpur and well connected to nearby towns. As the town is Near to Himalayan low land (tarai belt) rainfall is higher and winters are very cold.
