General Introduction
Lakhimpur is district headquarter and also a developing district of Lucknow commissionaire area. Lakhimpur is emerging city for industrial, commercial and community-facility sector. Khiri is the largest district (area wise) in U.P. and its boundary touches the international boundary of India-Nepal. Dudhwa National Park has situated in district and well know tourist place. This district is well connected with Sitapur, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Pilibhit, Bahraich and the state capital lucknow by roads and railways.
Through the government notification no 4156/9-A-3-91-9R.A./91 dated 16th march 1992, Lakhimpur-Khiri regulated area was notified comprising Lakhimpur Nagar Palika Parishad and Khiri Nagar Pachayat and adjacent 27 villages. At present none Master plan has been enforced for the lakhimpur-khiri regulated area.
