Introduction
Bahraich is a rich historical city of Uttar Pradesh State in Devipatan Division of India. It is the administrative head quarter of District Bahraich. Bahraich is located on the bank of Saryu River, a tributary of river Ghaghra. The city is about 125 Km. North-East of Lucknow, coordinates 27.580N and 81.60E. Elevation is 126m (413 ft). Bahraich city is well connected by rail and road to major cities of the State and country. As data of 2011 census, the Bahrich urban agglomeration had a population of 186223.
Regulated Area
For well planned development of the Bahraich town Uttar Pradesh State Government had declared the area under the border of Bahraich Nagar Palika and Urbanizable area under nearby 29 revenue villages of Tehsil Bahraich, District Bahraich as Bahraich Regulated Area by the notification No. 2997/XXXVII-3-77-N.K.V.-82 Lucknow, Dated June 23, 1982.
Master Plan's Status
Bahraich Master Plan-2001 approved by Uttar Pradesh Government is effective in Regulated Area Bahraich at present and its revision is under process.
